Peter Harris AO is a leading Australian economist with extensive experience across public service, policy, and business. As the former Chairman of the Productivity Commission, he led key inquiries into housing for older Australians, financial system competition, and superannuation efficiency.
His distinguished public service career includes serving as Secretary for several state and federal government departments and as Senior Private Secretary to Prime Minister Bob Hawke. Peter has also held senior private sector roles, including as a Vice President at the Ansett/Air NZ group. He is a graduate in economics from the University of Queensland and was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Economics from the University of Queensland.
